Scheme of ‘Pre-Matric Scholarship’ for Students Belonging to the Minority Communities 2017
Online applications are invited in the prescribed format from the students belonging to the Minority Community, namely Muslim, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) and Jains notified by the Central Govt. pursuing, education from Class 1st to 10th., in Govt. /Recognized Schools/added Institutes for Pre-Matric Scholarship for the year 2017-18
The scholarship will be provided for the entire duration of the course and will include admission fees, tuition fees and maintenance allowance of the course.
Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination and annual income of their parents/guardian (Father and Mother both) from all sources does not exceed Rs.1.00 lakh
Earmarking For Girl Students: 30% of scholarship will be earmarked for girl students. In case sufficient numbers of eligible girl students are not available, then the balance-earmarked scholarships may be awarded to eligible boy students.
As the number of scholarships for minorities available in a year is fixed and limited, it is necessary to lay down preference for selection. Inter-se selection weightage is to be given to poverty rather than marks. In case of the renewal applications, such applications would be fully exhausted before the new applications are considered
The selected candidates will get the scholarship for the entire course. Whereas the Maintenance Allowance will be given to the candidates for ten (10) month period in an academic year
Reward of Scholarship
The selected candidates will get the financial assistance for Admission or Tuition fee and Maintenance Allowance as per the maximum ceiling given below:
1. Admission fee from class VI to X
For Hosteller: Rs.500/- per annum subject to actual
For Day Scholars: Rs.500/- per annum subject to actual
2. Tuition fee from class VI to X
For Hosteller: Rs.350/- per month subject to actual
For Day Scholars: Rs.350/- per month subject to actual
3. Maintenance allowance is payable for a period not exceeding 10 months in an academic year.
i) Class I to V Hosteller: Nil
Class I to V Day Scholars: Rs.100/- per month
ii) Class VI to X Hosteller: Rs. 600/- per month subject to actual
Class VI to X Day Scholars: Rs. 100/- per month
Two students from a family will be awarded with pre-matric scholarship
How to Apply
Eligible students can apply online on the website www.scholarships.gov.in. Students will forward their applications online to the instructions and will also take a print-out. This printout along with all requisite documents (as prescribed in the printout) will be submitted to the concerned institutions
Students will get a temporary ID, which he/she will retain/keep with him/her for any further correspondence etc. It is mandatory for student of classes I to X to apply for the Pre-Matric scholarship online
The institution will scrutinize and forward all these applications online by the same
