On Thursday, the Supreme Court proposed a three-member panel to “minimise malpractices” in online exams for government jobs. Advocate Prashant Bhushan reiterated that cheating has gone up in exams and genuine students suffer as a result of that.

Bhushan asked the court to intervene and to look at the larger problem. The court was hearing a matter concerning an alleged leak of papers of the 2017 Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examination, which is held for selection of candidates for central government jobs. See: SSC Exam Dates 2019

The court has refrained the government from releasing the SSC results and has suggested cancelling the exam. It has given time to the Centre to revert on holding the test again either through the National Testing Agency or through the CBSE.
