SSC to announced CGL 2018 Exam dates soon
Exam Schedule for SSC CGL 2018 to be out soon – There has been a change in the third party vendor for conducting SSC CGL, TCS-ion – a vendor for conducting NTA’s exam might be engaged, noise of NTA taking over is also up. The SSC CGL 2019 exam dates are supposed to be out this month.
After the alleged paper leak reported in the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination last year, the government has engaged TCSiON – the digital assessment platform of TCS — to conduct the CGL 2019 on behalf of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) — the exam conducting body for recruitment to lower categories of posts in the Central government.
Since 2017, after alleged paper leak students have been protesting and demanding the change in the third-party vendor used for conducting the exam. With the new vendor, the exams are expected to be aligned on NTA which also conducts the exam through TCS-iON.
While the NTA might be given the responsibility of conducting the SSC CGL 2019, DG, NTA Vineet Joshi has claims not to have received any confirmation yet. “We have read about the Supreme Court suggestions on handing over the charge to NTA, however, we have not received the communication yet,” said Joshi.

Last year in September, the Supreme Court directed the government to give charge to the CBSE or the NTA. According to sources, the NTA has been selected for the task. The decision has been made for the 2018 session but there are no updates of the re-exam dates for 2017 exam which was allegedly leaked. The apex court had said, “Prima facie entire SSC system and examination are tainted.”
Supposedly, the government asked for tenders from industry players and gave TCSiON the one for the SSC CGL exam. The CGL exam will be conducted on a CBT (computer-based test) format. The same pattern is being followed for other exams like the JEE Main, UGC NET, GMAT, CPAT etc which are all conducted by the NTA. The CGL exam is expected to be conducted on the lines of UGC-NET. For the National Eligibility Test (NET), the NTA had a security system which could jam any cheating or leak. This system is also likely to be used in CGL exams.
