Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra has invited application forms from the eligible applicants for admission into PhD Course for 2017-18 sessions.
Kurukshetra University PhD Admission 2017 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should be Master’s Degree with 55% marks or M.Phil Degree with 55% marks and also having secured 55% marks in Master’s Degree in the main subject (or an exam recognized as equivalent thereto)/allied subject (or an exam recognized as equivalent thereto) OR its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed, calculations of marks as per CBCS pattern).
A relaxation of 5% marks of 55% marks (2.75%) i.e. from 55% to 52.25% marks in the aforesaid Degrees is allowed for those applicants belonging to SC/ST/ Differently Abled (non-creamy layer) of Haryana.
Applicants possessing Degree equivalent to Master’s Degree/M.Phil. Degree equivalent to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions shall be eligible for admission to PhD Course.
Kurukshetra University Phd Admission 2017 Admission Procedure
Kurukshetra University shall notify predetermined total seats to be filled up by each Dept./Institute on annual basis primarily for UGC/CSIR-NET JRF (with validity period) applicants and remaining vacant seats through Entrance Test.
The total notified seats in different subjects shall be maximum 3/4th of vacant seats available with each teacher and will be filled up during the following months in each academic session or as per schedule decided by the University from time to time:
UGC/CSIR-NET JRF (with validity period) is eligible to submit the Application Form duly filled in all respects for admission in PhD Course under Exempted Category, if otherwise eligible.
UGC/CSIR-NET JRF (with validity period) shall be directly admitted in PhD Course under Exempted Category subject to fulfillment of other conditions as laid down in the PhD Ordinance.
The admission in PhD Course to non-UGC/CSIR-NET JRF applicants shall be through Entrance Test. Such applicants are required to submit separate Application Form(s) duly filled in all respects for Main and Allied subjects for Entrance Test for admission in PhD Course.
Admission through Entrance Test
Kurukshetra University shall hold the Entrance Test of main subject and allied subject as per schedule notified every year, subject to availability of vacant seats in that subject.
Applicants including UGC/CSIR-NET JRF applying in allied subjects or an exam recognized as equivalent thereto shall be required to appear in the Entrance Test.
A Committee consisting of the concerned Chairperson/Director of the Dept./ Institute (Coordinator of the test) and the Controller of Exams will conduct the PhD Entrance Test.
Exam of Paper-I & Paper-II will be held as per schedule notified by the University.
Distribution of Question Papers, Marks and Duration
Paper-I Subject Specific: 50 Objective type questions; duration: 1 Hour Maximum Marks: 100
Paper-II Subject Specific: Descriptive type questions; duration: 2 Hours Maximum Marks: 100
Syllabi for entrance test duly approved by the Departmental Research Advisory Committee of the concerned Department/Institute will be placed on the website of University.
The medium of examination shall be English/Hindi only, except in the examination for languages other than English.
Kurukshetra University Phd Admission 2017 Application Form
Application Forms for admission to PhD Courses through Entrance Test for the Academic Session 2017-18 are invited from the eligible applicants to be enrolled in September 2017.
Application Form is to be submitted to the concerned Chairperson/Director of the Department/Institute on University Campus latest by July 03rd 2017.
The PhD Ordinance, Application Form, Schedule for Admission, Fee Structure, No. of Vacant Seats (category wise)/Main & Applied subjects list, for admission to PhD Courses available in each Department/Institute have been uploaded on the University Website www.kuk.ac.in.
Enrolment Fee – Rs.2000/-
Migration Fee (If already not registered) – Rs.2000/-
PhD Coursework Fee – Rs.5000/-
Annual Fee for Research Programme for subjects not involving the use of Lab/ Equipment, etc. – Rs.2000/-
Annual Fee (except Pharmaceutical Sciences) – Rs.8000/-
Annual Fee for Pharmaceutical Sciences – Rs.80,000/-
Evaluation Fees – Rs.7500/-
Late Fee for delayed payment of Annual Fee (a) Upto 6 Months – Rs.100/-; and (b) Beyond 6 Months – Rs.200/-per month.
The application forms are to be submitted to the Directors/Chairpersons of the Institutes/ University Teaching Departments at University Campus.
