IIIT Delhi PhD Admission 2018: Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi has invited applications for admission to PhD Degree for 2018 Session.

IIIT Delhi PhD Programs Offered

IIIT Delhi is looking for bright and dedicated young scholars interested in research to join us as PhD scholars. Currently, we offer PhD programs in Computational Biology (CB), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Mathematics (Maths), Social Sciences (SS).

Prospective Applicants satisfying the eligibility criteria are encouraged to acquaint themselves with the research areas of our faculty members for suitable match of interest.

Salient Features

IIIT Delhi PhD Eligibility Criteria

For discipline wise minimum eligibility criteria. Applicants belonging to SC/ST/PD categories would be eligible for relaxations, as per norms, in the selection criteria.

Computational Biology (CB)

A valid GATE score/National Fellowship (e.g. CSIR-UGC NET, DST INSPIRE, ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF) and; BTech / BE / MTech / MS / ME in CSE / IT / ECE / EE / Other Engineering with a CGPA of at least 6.5 on a scale of 10 (or equivalent) or 60% or;

MCA/MSc (CSE/IT/ECE/EE and allied areas) degree is considered equivalent to the BTech/BE degree. Such students are eligible to apply with the condition that they have BSc in Computer Science or BSc in any other subject with Mathematics as one of the courses. The marks requirement is same as given above for BTech/BE degrees.

Computer Science and Engineering

BTech/ BE/ MTech/ MS/ ME in CSE/ IT/ ECE/ EE with a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (or equivalent) or 70% or;

MCA/MSc (CSE/IT/ECE/EE and allied areas) degree is considered equivalent to the BTech/BE degree. Such students are eligible to apply with a condition that they have BSc in Computer Science or BSc in any other subject with Mathematics as one of the courses. The marks requirement is same as given above or;

MSc in Mathematics with at least 70% marks in both B.Sc and M.Sc or 7.5 CGPA and strong inclination towards CSE/ECE.

Electronics & Communications Engineering (ECE)

BTech/ BE/ MTech/ MS/ ME in CSE/ IT/ ECE/ EE with a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (or equivalent) or 70% or; MCA/MSc. (CSE/IT/ECE/EE and allied areas) degree is considered equivalent to the BTech/BE degree or;

MSc in Mathematics with at least 70% marks in both B.Sc and M.Sc or 7.5 CGPA and strong inclination towards CSE/ECE.

Mathematics

JRF from either UGC/CSIR/NBHM/DST or GATE score at least 400 and;

MSc(Maths)/MSc (Physics)/MSc(Statistics)/ MStat/MPhil(Maths)/ BTech/ MTech/ BE / ME in CS/ ECE/ Maths & CS and similar inter-disciplinary programs with a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (or equivalent) or at least 70% marks at UG and PG levels.

Social Sciences

Sociology / Anthropology: M.A./MSc/MPhil in, Sociology or Anthropology BTech/MTech. in any discipline and/or MBA with the strong interest in sociology/anthropology. With CGPA of at least 7.0 out of 10 for B.Tech degree holders, or at least 55% marks for MA/MSc degree holders.

Economics: M.A./MSc/MPhil in Economics, Statistics or Mathematics. BTech/MTech. in any discipline and/or MBA with the strong interest in economics

With CGPA of at least 7.0 out of 10 for B.Tech degree holders, or at least 55% marks for MA/MSc degree holders.

IIIT Delhi PhD Admission Selection Process

Admission is generally offered on the basis of an interview, which may be supplemented by a written test, if necessary.

The Institute will invite a limited number of Applicants for a written test and interview based on the academic records, statement of purpose, etc.

The final selection will be mainly based on academic credentials, written test and/or interview

Applicants who do not qualify in the written test need not appear for the interview. The reserved category Applicants will be given due relaxation in cutoff marks as per the norms.

IIIT Delhi PhD Application Process 2018

Fill up the online PhD application form https://www.iiitd.ac.in/admission/phd/apr2018.

Online applications portal will be available from 07th March 2018 (17:00 Hrs) till 01st April 2018 (17:00 Hrs).

Applicants can apply only through the online application portal. There is no provision for offline submission of application forms.

There is no application fee for PhD program.

Pay the PhD application processing fee Rs.350/- online (or); please send a demand draft (DD) of Rs.350/-  in favour of “IIIT-Delhi Collections Account” payable at “Delhi” to the following address to the Assistant Manager (Academics), A-109, Academics Building, IIIT-Delhi, Okhla Industrial Estate, Phase-3, New Delhi-110020.

In case of Demand Draft (DD), please mention your name, application number and name of PhD program at the back of the demand draft (DD).

In case of online payment, if the payment status is unsuccessful but the amount is debited from Applicant’s account, please email the transaction id mentioned in your bank statement along with date of the transaction to phd-admissions@iiitd.ac.in.
