Demanding an increase in NET fellowship grant as well as roll back in the increased amount of application fees, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) protested in front of the University Grants Commission on Monday.
“The UGC should immediately announce a hike in non-NET fellowship and other agencies should also follow suite. Also, the application fee for NET exam which has been increased from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1,000 should be rolled back in the interest of students from all financial backgrounds,” said ABVP Delhi state secretary Saket Bahuguna.
The students and researchers from Delhi University protested at the University Grant Commission office near RTO, under the leadership of Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Monday. The main demand of the protesters being hike in non -NET fellowships and roll-back of increase in application fees for NET examination.
The students raised slogans against UGC and demanded to listen to their problems from the central government and various funding agencies like UGC, DST, CSIR.
The ABVP has warned that if these demands were not taken in to consideration, they will launch a mass agitation.
