A wrong address given by the CBSE had many people scurrying across Northern Kerala in search of their exam centre on the day of the National Eligibility Test (NET).
For some candidates, the centre for UCG NET was given as Markazul Uloom English Medium School in Kozhikode. But the candidates were unable to locate the centre in Kozhikode.
Candidates were running to different Markazul Uloom schools in Kozhikode – from Mavoor Road to Eranhipalam – in search of their centre on Sunday. About 15 candidates reached the school in Eranhipalam only to be disappointed.
A pregnant woman, who disregarded her doctor’s warning to attend the exam, also had a troubled day due to the miscommunication.
Later, based on the postal code given, the centre was traced to Markazul Uloom school in Kondotty in Malappuram district.
And by the time the NET aspirants reached the centre, the first test had begun. As it was pointless to attempt the second test without writing the first, many returned disheartened.
The dejected candidates have said that they will file a complaint with the CBSE. As even people who had physical ailments suffered due to the wrong address, a complaint would also be filed with the Human Rights Commission.
