Here’s another chance for those aspiring to become lecturers or assistant professors in degree colleges, universities and institutions of higher learning.
The University of Mysore has resolved to hold the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (K-SET), which determines the eligibility of the candidates for lectureship, in December this year.
Being the nodal agency for the State government for holding K-SET, the K-SET has been scheduled on December 6 (Sunday) at 11 cities, including Mysuru, Bengaluru and Davangere, according to the registrar, University of Mysore.
This time, the test will be conducted for 32 subjects in accordance with the norms of University Grants Commission (UGC). K-SET had been modelled on the lines of UGC’s National Eligibility Test (NET).

Belagavi, Ballari, Vijayapura, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Mangaluru, Shivamogga and Tumakuru are the other cities where the test will be conducted, a release said.
The examination fee for candidates belonging to general merit is Rs. 1,000; Rs. 800 for the candidates of Category II A, IIB, IIIA, IIIB and Rs. 500 for SCs/STs/Persons with Disabilities.
Submission of online applications will commence from July 20 and the last date for submitting applications online without a late fee is August 14 and with a late fee of Rs 100 is August 25.
The candidate should keep the admission card and submit the hard copy of the application and attendance slip along with the attested copies of SSLC, PG marks card and category certificates in an A4 envelope super scribed ‘K-SET for lectureship-2015’ to the nodal officer at the respective examination centre chosen by the candidate on or before September 11, the release added.
