PSC Postponed Lectureship Eligibility Exam Date

JKPSC has postponed it’s Lecturer exam in the wake of date clash with UGC’s NET, both of which were poised to be held on the same day i.e., June 19.

Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission has finally postponed the lecture exam scheduled for June 19 as the exam was clashing with the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted in the name of Joint CSIR-UGC NET by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). JKPSC has not finalized the fresh date for +2 lecturer exam and as per the sources, the exam is likely to be held in July.

“It is for the information of all eligible candidates who have applied for the posts of Lecturer 10+2 in School Education Department that the Written test of subjects viz. Computer Science, Economics, Zoology & Mathematics scheduled on 19.06.2016 is hereby postponed till further orders” mentions the official notification released by JKPSC on June 13.

Aspirants had appealed to the PSC authorities for shifting the Lecturer exam to any other date as most of them had applied for both exams. They had also cited that since the NET exam date was notified well in advance, the clash could only be avoided if JKPSC make changes in the schedule.

Meanwhile, Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation Syed Basharat Bukhari informed the Legislative Council that the issue of clash of the NET and +2 lecturer examinations on June 19 had been taken up with the Chief Secretary who had assured to look into the matter. Acting on the recommendation and appeals, JKPSC released notification on its official web portal stating the postponement of the Lecturer exam.

The written test for posts of Lecturer 10+2 for subjects; Chemistry, Statistics, Botany, Bio-Technology was conducted on June 12 while English, Urdu, Physics subject written test was conducted on June 5. JKPSC has only postponed the written test for June 19 and hence written test for subjects viz. Geography, Enviromental Science, Hindi and Commerce will be conducted as per the schedule on June 26.
