Mudra Institute of Communication Fellow Programme in Management 2017
Mudra Institute of Communication (MICA) has invited applications for admission into Fellow Programme a through a Written Examination for 2017-2020 sessions.
Eligibility Criteria for Fellow Programme in Management
Applicants must have a Master’s Degree/equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in any discipline of the Humanities /Social Sciences / Business Management having Communication / Journalism /Advertising/Public Relations/Media/Marketing as a subject. The applicant should have also completed a three-year Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification after completing higher secondary (10+2) or equivalent (or);
At least 55% marks or equivalent grade in Five year Integrated Masters Degree programme from any discipline of the Humanities/Social Sciences/Business Management having Communication / Journalism / Advertising / Public Relations/Media/Marketing as a subject, obtained after completing higher secondary (10+2) or equivalent.
Qualifications described above must be recognised by AICTE/Universities/Deemed Universities.
Foreign nationals and NRIs with non-Indian degrees that are considered equivalent (by UGC/AICTE) to the qualifications listed above are also eligible to apply for the programme.
A Foreign National is a person who is not a citizen of India.
An NRI is an Indian who as of April 2017 is working or studying or residing outside India for at least past 12 months continuously.
Stage 1: Telephone interviews for eligible applicants.
Stage 2: Shortlisted applicants appear for MICA’s FPM Admission Test. FPM Admission Test is a two-day process organised at MICA campus comprising of Written Test (WT), Group Discussion (GD), Individual Presentation (IP) and Personal Interview (PI).
Applicants appearing for admission test will be provided lodging and boarding on MICA campus.
Written Test (WT): Written Test will examine applicant’s (communication) theoretical understanding, ability to investigate a communication phenomenon and ability to interpret data and draw conclusions.
WT will be descriptive in nature and is based on prescribed readings. Applicants shortlisted after telephonic interviews will be sent prescribed readings via email. They are required to read them critically. Applicants may bring copies of the readings to the WT as this is an open-book exam.
Group Discussion (GD): Group Discussion will include a group of 6-8 applicants who will be given a GD topic on the spot. The group will be allowed to deliberate and reflect on the topic for first 15 minutes followed by a 30 minutes discussion; a panel of experts will evaluate GD process.
Individual Presentation (IP): The applicant will be given a presentation topic on the spot. S/he will be given 90 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to present to a panel of experts. Applicants will be required to make PowerPoint (PPT) presentations. A computer will be allotted to each applicant for creating PPT. Applicants may bring their own laptops as well. However, each applicant will be required to bring a USB flash drive.
Personal Interview (PI): Personal Interview will follow the IP where a panel of experts will assess applicant’s personality and passion for research.
Selection to the programme is based on:
- Performance in FPM Admission Test
- Consistent academic performance from 10+2 onwards, and
- Professional work/research experience in media and communication
The various fee charged by the Institute from FPM students are:
- Fee to be paid along with completed FPM application form – Rs 2500/-
- Fee to be paid along with the acceptance of admission offer – Rs25000/-
Rs.15000/- will be refunded after successful completion of first year and Rs.5000/- after successful completion of the programme

This application form is an integral part of the admission process. Please provide correct information. Admission granted on the basis of incorrect information will be ipso facto null and void.
In all matters regarding admission to the programme, the decision of the institute will be final and binding. No correspondence from the applicant with respect to his/her non-selection will be entertained.
The institute reserves the right to re-schedule or change/cancel venue for the admission test.
The application fee must be deposited through a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 2500/- drawn in favour of MICA payable at Ahmedabad. Please write your name and contact details on the reverse side of demand draft. Applicants are required to provide the details of application fee demand draft while filling the online application form.
