B.Ed Courses 2017 at University of Calicut
University of Calicut has invited applications for admission to 2 year B.Ed programme for 2017 sessions offered at Govt. Colleges/Aided Colleges/ University Teacher Education Centres/Unaided Colleges affiliated to University of Calicut.
Institutions of Seats: Calicut University has 75 Colleges (02 Govt. Colleges, 02 Aided Colleges, 01 College of Teacher Education, Lakshadweep, 11 University Teacher Education Centres and 59 Self-Financing Colleges)
University of Calicut BEd Admission 2017 Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualification: Applicants who have passed BA/B.Sc degree of the University of Calicut or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto under 10+2+3 pattern with 50% marks in Part-I+II+III together/50% Marks for Part-III alone or Masters Degree in the same subject with minimum 50% marks or 10+2+5 pattern for Integrated M.Sc Course or 10+2+3+2 pattern for M.Com.
However, 10+2+3 Pattern is not insisted for B.A/B.Sc Degree holders under liberalized scheme of the University of Calicut.
Applicants who have passed Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks are eligible.
Applicants who have passed their qualifying examination from other Universities outside Kerala should submit Equivalency Certificate stating that their qualifying exam is recognized by the Calicut University, for seeking admission to B.Ed Degree course in a particular optional subject, along with their application.
Relaxation in Marks: SC/ST applicants including natives of Lakshadweep and applicants under Teacher Quota need only a pass in the Qualifying Exam. Relaxation of 5% marks for OBC, SEBC and OEC applicants will be allowed to the minimum required marks.
Blind Applicants will be given 5% concession in aggregate marks.
Age limit: There is no upper age limit for admission to B.Ed Courses.
Nativity: The B.Ed Program will be given only to Keralites but non-Keralite applicants also can be admitted to a maximum of 10% of the management quota seats in Private Self financing Colleges.
Reservation of Seats
Out of the total Merit seats available for various B.Ed Courses, seats will be reserved for different categories under the following main items: (a) Reservation for nominees; (b) Reservation for Persons with Disabilities; (c) Special Reservation; and (d) Mandatory Reservation.

Applicants are directed to download Application Form & Prospectus from the Website www.universityofcalicut.info and fill up the application carefully after reading the Prospectus.
Application for admission to B.Ed Courses 2017 in affiliated Colleges and University Teacher Education Centres can be submitted to the concerned institution by remitting the cost of application Rs.100/-.
Applicants can collect application form from the colleges concerned.
