NEET UG 2018 over 90 % Candidates Took the Exam in English Medium – It has been observed after the NEET UG 2018 Exam that the majority of the candidates took the exam in English Medium. The regional languages in India hold greater sanctity when it comes to political battles in the country, but for educational use, English supersedes all other languages including Hindi.

Only 8 percent of the total candidates sat for the exam in regional languages, that means over 10 lakh students of  13, 26, 725 students preferred English language over regional languages. The language options were Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Oriya, Bengali, Urdu, Telegu and Kannada

Over 13 lakh candidates appeared in NEET UG 2018. The exam was conducted in 2,225 centres across the country. There were strict checks on dress code to avoid any malpractice during the examination. Students were asked to remove hair pins, jewellery items and even shoes.

13,26,725 students had registered for the exam, of whom 5,80,648 are males and 7,46,076 females and one transgender.

Due to increased number of candidates exam centres fell short certain state candidates travelled to other states to appear for NEET Exam 2018. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami announced that every student from Tamil Nadu who travels to other states to appear for the NEET will be given train fare in addition to monetary assistance of Rs 1,000 per candidate.

Over 4000 observers were deputed as overseers, 1,20,000 invigilators for exam conducting.
