Karnataka State Law University announces LLM Admission 2017 (one year course)


Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi (Karnataka) invites application from the eligible applicants for admission to one year LL.M Course in different branches for the academic session 2017-18

An applicant who has graduated in law from a university established by an Act of Parliament or by a state Legislature or an equivalent national institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or a Foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University may apply for one year LLM degree Programme


Minimum percentage of marks: Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in case of general category applicants, and 40% (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) of total marks in case of Sc and ST applicants


Candidates who are awaiting the results of LL.B may also apply



The syllabus for admission test includes Constitutional law, Administrative Law, Jurisprudence, Contract Law, Company Law, and Intellectual Property Law
Admission to One year LL.M Programme shall be through al All Indian Admission Test conducted by the Karnataka State Law University which shall be design to test the aptitude for


i. Teaching/Research


ii. Comprehension


iii. Basic legal knowledge


iv. Legal reasoning


The question paper shall contain objective type questions, short answer questions and one essay type question


The admission test will be for 70% of total marks of the test and the reaming 30% will be distributed on the basis of work experience (moot courts, clinical experience, research projects undertaken, other simulation exercise), publication and legal knowledge



The applications for admission and the admission statement should be as per preformed prescribed by KSLU, Hubballi. The admission statements in Proforma-I and 3 shall be forwarded to the KSLU Office Email ID [email protected] on the dates specified in the Admission Notification 2017-18


Applicants who have passed the LL.B degree or equivalent examination from recognized University that are situated outside Karnataka or in a Foreign country shall compulsorily obtain the Eligibility Certificate


i. Such candidates may apply for the Eligibility certificates to the Registrar KSLU with necessary original documents in the prescribe form either by post or in person by paying necessary fees, along with the original marks cards of LL.B as applicable along with transcripts issued by the concern university.


ii. The Eligible Certificate will be issued by the KSLU’s Academic section at Hubballi


iii. All those candidates who have obtained qualifying degree/ certificate from outside the Karnataka state should produce the countersigned original certificates from the issuing authorities/ University, otherwise the application will not be considered


Fee for the Eligibility Certificate for LL.M is Rs. 2200/- for the Indian Students and Rs. 11,000/- for Foreign students
